FOUNDATION DEGREE IN FOOTBALL COACHING AND DEVELOPMENT:
The Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Community Football Coaching and Development provides students with an opportunity to gain an industry-recognised coaching award while being affiliated to BCFC Community Trust, in partnership with the University of South Wales.
This Community Football Coaching Course, designed in conjunction with the English Football League Trust, develops the skills and qualities that are required to work within professional Football Club’s Community Departments or National Governing Bodies in areas of growth such as social inclusion, community coaching and football development.
You will learn about children and youth coaching, football coaching, football development, social inclusion, and sports management skills.

FOUNDATION DEGREE IN FOOTBALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT:
BCFC Community Trust have recently teamed up with the University College Birmingham to launch a new Higher Education Programme. Sports Management offers a wide variety of employment opportunities, from working for national governing bodies or managing leisure facilities and sports events to sports marketing and commercial development.
Our course features distinct learning pathways relating to key areas – Leadership and Management, Marketing and Communications, Research or Planning and Performance – ensuring you gain the range of skills vital for success in your preferred field.
Learners will have the opportunity to study at Birmingham City Football Clubs Trillion Trophy Stadium which will provide the opportunity to learn at the heart of the industry environment, with placement opportunities across different departments.
You will also have access to UCB facilities which include, sport science labs, gym, library, and computer access.
We have also agreed that students will also have the opportunity to move into UCB dorm accommodations if they wish to do so.

Graduates of the Foundation Degree Community Football Coaching and Development can pursue careers as a performance coach; sports or football development officer; multi-skills sports coach; school sport coordinator; talent coach; club coach; participant coach; PE teacher; FE college lecturer; primary school teacher; coaches, workforce, and coach education coordinators; sports management and administration positions; self employed business managers.
On successful completion of the 2-year Foundation Degree, students could opt to top up (complete a 3rd year) to achieve a BSc (Hons) in Football Coaching Development and Administration.
The year of study will consolidate your learning and start to specialise your work-based learning experience in line with your career ambitions.

The third-year can be completed on campus at USW, alternatively, it can be completed via distance learning whilst completing a work placement.

The Football and Education Programme is run by the BCFC Community Trust in partnership with North Birmingham Academy and the EFL Trust.
Students have the opportunity to:
- Study a full-time academic programme at Level 2 and Level 3 including:
- OCR Cambridge Technical Level 2 Diploma
- OCR Cambridge Technical Level 3 Diploma
Students will study at St. Andrews Trillion Trophy Stadium and North Birmingham Academy. They will also have the opportunity to train at a range of professional facilities which include the Trillion Trophy Training Centre.
Students will compete in the EFL Community & Education Football Alliance League and receive coaching from UEFA A licensed coaches. As well as this, students will participate in the Community Trust pre-season training camps and the end of season tours in the UK and abroad. As an added extra, all students will have the opportunity to gain vocational coaching qualifications should they wish.
Students can progress through internal routes to Higher Education – including the opportunity to gain a place on our Foundation Degree in Community Coaching & Development, or our new Foundation Degree in Football Business and Management, at the end of the course.
Learners who have successfully completed our Football and Education Programme have gone onto gain employment within the sports coaching industry, been accepted at Universities both in the UK and USA, as well as being successful in signing for professional and semi-professional football clubs.
