Central defender Josh Martin has become the latest Blues youngster to sign a new contract.

His one-year deal runs until 30 June 2019, with a further one-year option clause in the Club’s favour.

The highly-rated youngster was already on professional terms with the Club, having penned his first contract on his 17th birthday.

He was previously given a squad number back in 2014 by then First Team Manager Lee Clark but has yet to make his senior bow.

A regular for the Club's Under-23s side, last season he clocked up 27 appearances for the Development Squad.

Martin, 19, quickly made progress through the age groups, often playing in sides much older than his years.

However, his development was slowed somewhat in December 2016 when he damaged his cruciate knee ligament, which sidelined him for eight months.
