The former Club Captain, who retired from playing at the season’s end, has been appointed Assistant Senior Professional Development Coach.
Robinson will work alongside Richard Beale bringing through the Club’s Under-23s Development Squad.
The Club advertised the role and following a thorough interview process 39-year-old Robinson was the preferred candidate.
Robinson called time on a 22-year playing career with an emotional farewell at Blues last match of the campaign.
He came on in the 90th minute of Blues 3-1 defeat of Fulham for what was his 175th appearance for the Club and 765 all told.
Holder of UEFA A and B licences, he made no secret of his plan go into coaching full-time once he had hung up his boots.
And he has been gaining experience along the way whilst at Blues over the past couple of seasons.
On signing a new contract a year ago, it was agreed to firm-up Robinson’s involvement in helping to coach the Under-23s, Under-18s and Academy age groups when possible.
And at various times this season he has donned his staff coaching kit at the Wast Hills training fields and in technical areas on a more regular basis.
He assisted Caretaker Manager Lee Carsley for a spell after Harry Redknapp’s departure.
Then, when Steve Cotterill came in, he was tasked with assisting Blues Under-23s, alongside Beale.
Garry Monk brought him back into the fold as a player on his appointment and was keen to retain Robinson’s expertise and experience in a new capacity as he continues to move the Under-23s closer to the First Team.
Robinson embarks on his UEFA Pro Licence next year.
