It was a first cap for Jeacock at Under-19s level

Blues goalkeeper Zach Jeacock made his England Under-19s debut this afternoon.

Jeacock started for the Young Lions in their friendly against Greece at St. George's Park.

Paul Simpson's side won 3-1, after recovering from going a goal down - when a hopeful effort by Vrakas Georgios took a fortunate deflection and looped up and out of reach of Jeacock.

The game was part of the Under-19s preparations for the European Championship qualifiers, which begin in Novemeber.

England have another game, in Germany on Monday.

The cap for Jeacock continues his outstanding rise and recognises his undoubted potential.

Jeacock signed a three-year contract with Blues in the summer.

He made the breakthrough into the Under-23s, helping them to the PDL National Play-Off Final.

Jeacock, who was in Blues Academy as a defender before being transformed to goalkeeper aged 14, joined Gloucester City on a season-long loan in July.

And he has been in excellent form for Gloucester as he gains valuable competitive experience in National League North.
