Jacques Maghoma's Africa Cup of Nations campaign came to an end on Sunday after his DR Congo were knocked out of the 2019 tournament in Egypt.

The Blues winger completed the full match in Alexandria as the Leopards lost out on penalties to underdogs Madagascar in the last 16 stage of the competition.

The match had ended all-square at 2-2 after DR Congo bagged a 90th minute equaliser, before going to spot-kicks.

Madagascar scored all four of their penalties, but DR Congo's Marcel Tisser and Yannick Bolasie fired their efforts over the bar.

Thirty-one-year-old Maghoma played in all four of his team's fixtures.

He came on as a substitute in their opening group A game against Uganda, in which they were beaten 2-0.

He then played the full 90 minutes in their 2-0 loss to Egypt, as well as all of the final group game against Zimbabwe which they won 4-0.
