Blues and Michael Morrison have not come to an agreement on a new contract.

The centre-half's current deal expired yesterday.

Morrison was offered new terms but declined and so the Club have to consider other options.

The 31-year-old initially joined Blues on an emergency loan from Charlton Athletic in October 2014, before the move was made permanent in January 2015.

Morrison quickly established himself as a mainstay within the heart of the Blues defence and was appointed Captain ahead of Blues' 2015/16 campaign.

He went on to amass 183 appearances in total for Blues- scoring 15 goals.

Last season saw him make 44 appearances in league and cup games, where he found the back of the net seven times.

Birmingham City FC would like to put on record our thanks to Michael for his efforts during his time at Blues and we wish him the best in whatever the future may hold.

He has always conducted himself with the utmost professionalism, often played through the pain barrier for the good of the team, and to a high, consistent standard throughout.
