The midfielder joined from Willem II, where he had revitalised his fledgling career after it stalled at Arsenal.
Even though he is still only 21, Crowley is a more mature and rounded player now after two-and-a-half seasons in Holland.
He is itching to make a mark for Blues in the Championship.
And Clotet is sure his creative spark will be an asset to the Blues side.
“I think Dan will be a good player for us," said the Caretaker Head Coach.
“I hope he feels very welcome as soon as possible and fits into the team and the Club - which I am sure will be the case.
“I believe he can bring us a lot, especially going forward offensively.
“He is a creative player. He is good linking up play from midfield and transforming that into offensive chances.
“He is quick, a good dribbler. Technically he is well gifted and I think he is the right kind of character for our environment.
“I am sure he can add to the team and add to the good atmosphere around the players.”
Clotet added: "He is a lad from Coventry, so that’s kind of bringing back local talent.
"I know he will want to show people what he is about. He is motivated to do well and that is the kind of player we also want."
