Pep Clotet hopes that Alvaro Gimenez can take confidence from winning two prestigious footballing awards earlier this week.
The Spanish striker collected two trophies at the Marca Football Awards in Spain on Monday evening for his goalscoring exploits back in his home country with former side Almeria during the 2018/19 campaign.
He bagged 20 goals for Almeria last term, including an impressive 11 goal haul in his last 10 matches.
Since moving to Blues in the summer, the 28-year-old has netted three goals and shown encouraging signs as he adapts to the rigours of Championship football in England, although there is obviously more to come.
"It's nice that he's been recognised," said Blues'Head Coach Clotet.
"Obviously he got the award for being the top goalscorer in the second highest league in Spain.
"I'm sure that will give him a lot of confidence.
"It comes at a good moment as well because going into Christmas with all the games we have coming up he's going to have plenty of opportunities to show that confidence."
