REACTION: Nottingham Forest 3 Blues 0

Obviously we are not happy, we came here with the view of being a lot more competitive than we showed, I think we started the game okay, we created problems, but those two goals in very short time from each other, changed the perspective of the match.

Pep Clotet spoke to the media after Saturday's defeat at the City Ground...

Pep Clotet on the result and the performance of his side...

"Obviously we are not happy, we came here with the view of being a lot more competitive than we showed, I think we started the game okay, we created problems, but those two goals in very short time from each other, changed the perspective of the match, it completely changed the game because then Forest was able to defend their goal and close all the spaces and that made it very tough for us going forward. In the second-half, we tried to play a lot of football on the pitch but it was difficult because they had a lot of numbers behind the ball. I will highlight the mistakes we have made today and learn from them and work and them so that we are better next time."

Pep Clotet on the arrival of his new signings and giving them time to adjust to the system...

"A lot of the players we brought in came later on in the window, two of them going straight into the team, Fran (Fran Villalba) in particular... coming into the side after just one session last weekend, they need time, we need to give them time and understand the processes we want them to go through and what is required, we try to work out the best for the squad, trying lots of different things in training to get the best out of the side and get the new lads to settle into the group with the lads. The team has improved a lot since we started, we improved massively last weekend from the Brentford game, we had some positives today but it was always going to be tough, we know it is about the result, but there were some positives to take today. Everyone is disappointed as we hoped to get something from today's game, but we've got to pick ourselves back up and look ahead to Tuesday."

Pep Clotet on sticking with 4-4-2 this afternoon...

"This formation is very similar to the one we played last season, the lads know it well, and it shows we can adapt from changing to four at the back from three, it means we can be flexible. We will change the way we play depending on the team we face, we have got points from both formations this seasons so far so it shows we can be competitive and that is what we want to be in every game. At the end of the day, the system doesn't make any difference, it is all about where you position the players on the pitch."

Pep Clotet on the manner in which Blues conceded the three goals...

"Yes, obviously, I am not happy with the way we conceded the goals today. The big impact and effect on us today was conceding those two goals in quick succession, and then second-half when we tried to push up the pitch to get back in the game, we left ourselves a bit more open than we would have liked to at the back, a bit more exposed, but we knew we needed to do something and a goal would have got us right back in the game - at the end of the day, it is no good losing 2-0, you need to try and go forward and get back in the game and if you concede again, you concede again. It is football, that happens."
