Brianna Visalli has been ruled out of action until the New Year.

The attacking midfielder has undergone minor surgery for a medical condition.

She has missed Blues Women's last two matches and will not be available for the three fixtures remaining this month.

The American was named captain for Blues trip to Brighton & Hove Albion Women at the end of last month.

But then she had to come out of the side and has been a frustrated watcher following her operation.

Visalli's absence is another headache for Manager Marta Tejedor.

Kerys Harrop and Sarah Mayling are also currently sidelined, along with long-term absentee Heidi Logan, whose operation to repair a damaged ACL was successful.

Blues next match is a crunch Barclays FA WSL clash at Bristol City Women on Sunday.

Then it's back-to-back visits of Manchester United Women to the Stadium, Solihull.

Blues take on the Reds in the Continental Cup group stage on Wednesday, 11 December (7.30pm), before a league game on Sunday, 15 December (2pm).
