The festival, which runs from the 18th to the 22nd May, will give children and families an afternoon of movement and fun with different games and activities to choose from.
The Trust are offering schools the chance to liven up their home school timetables with an interactive learning pack.
Each school will receive a learning pack filled with games and challenges to get children on their feet and active.
Antony Isherwood, Community Director said:
“We’ve had a great response so far with 13 schools signed up and over 2470 children in KS2 taking part in the festival. The pack has been designed for teachers to easily slot into their timetable for an afternoon next week. The numbers are growing, but there’s still time to get involved.”
Following the launch of the new online Joy of Moving Resource Hub, the Home School Festival will involve 72 other EFL Trust Club Community Organisations coming together at a time when children are missing their friends and are unlikely to experience the fun of their school sports day this year.
The festival is part of the Joy of Moving programme which has taught over 310,000 Year 5 children new skills and exercises for the past 6 years. Find out more here.
