Blues defender Geraldo Bajrami has joined National League side Solihull Moors on loan for the remainder of the season (subject to FA approval).

The Youth Loan runs until 30 May 2020, but the player can be recalled after 28 days, in accordance with league rules.

It is a first loan spell away from Blues for the 20-year-old centre-half, who signed a two-year deal with the Club in the summer of 2019.

The Albania Under-21 international made his breakthrough into the Blues First Team earlier this season in the EFL Cup first round defeat at Portsmouth on 6 August 2019.

He has subsequently made two Championship appearances for Pep Clotet's side, the last of which came in the away defeat at Hull in December.

Solihull Moors appointed former West Brom coach Jimmy Shan as their manager earlier this month following the departure of Tim Flowers.

Moors are currently pushing for promotion into the Football League and are in seventh place in the table - the final play-off spot.

They are next in league action this coming Saturday when they travel to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Blues boss Pep Clotet feels that Bajrami's Moors move is an ideal opportunity for him to gain even more experience of senior football.

"I think Geraldo will benefit a lot from being in a different environment and playing men's football," said Clotet.

"They are pushing for promotion and he will have to take the pressure that comes with being there.

"I really like the club and what they are doing. I've been there and watched games.

"It's a neighbouring club that wants to work together with us to help us and help them.

"I have a fantastic relationship with the owner of the club (Darryl Eales), because he was the owner when I was at Oxford and I see his vision."
