Club Update

Following on from our communication in May, the Club is able to provide supporters with an update of what has been happening and what is still to come this month.

It will, of course, be a historic campaign as both the Men’s and Women’s teams prepare to play all of their home fixtures at St. Andrew’s for the very first time.

And, with this in mind, it cannot be understated how much we are looking forward to welcoming you home.

The remedial stadium works to the Lower Kop and Lower Tilton remain ongoing and to schedule; and we will continue to follow Government guidelines to ensure it is a safe return for all Bluenoses.

That said, fixtures for the upcoming Sky Bet Championship campaign will be released on Thursday 24 June.

The 9am announcement will detail when and where we will take on each of our 23 second-tier counterparts, and you can be the first to find out by following our official website and social channels.

Information regarding Blues Women’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League schedule will be confirmed around mid-July.

Ahead of the new season, we are quickly approaching the return date for our Men’s First Team players - who are scheduled to report back on the weekend of 26/27 June. That is in readiness for the Club’s pre-season schedule ahead of the Championship starting in August.

Contract talks are still ongoing with a number of players and we will bring you news as and when we have it.

Finally, our eagerly anticipated 2021/22 Nike home kit will be revealed at the end of this month, with supporters able to purchase on launch day, online and in the Blues Store, alongside the Club’s new training and leisure wear ranges.

Following the launch of these lines we have received feedback regarding the heat pressed crest. This will be the same on both the home and away shirts, however, discussions have already started with Just Sport about reverting to a stitched badge for the 2022/23 season.

Details of our away kit will be released in July.

Season Ticket Sales

Thank you! After such a challenging year, we have been overwhelmed at the response to our season ticket launch. Supporters are the heartbeat of this Club and we were delighted to showcase so many of you in our season ticket campaign.

At the time of writing, sales of Men’s season tickets have surpassed 6,000, a really positive number following the initial three-week sales period.

This has also seen supporters take advantage of our 50% discount on Women’s season tickets for those who have purchased a Men’s equivalent.

Supporters who held a season ticket in 2019/20 are reminded that they have until Monday 28 June to secure their seat at renewal prices.

Pre-Season

Lee Bowyer and his team will travel north of the border to South Ayrshire as they continue their preparations for the 2021/22 season.

Players and staff will be based in the Scottish town of Troon between Sunday 27 June and Sunday 4 July. Here the squad will complete a pre-season training camp as they gear up to their first pre-season fixtures.

There are no fixtures scheduled during the trip.

Blues Women

Earlier today we released our retained and released list which can be viewed by clicking here.

Going forward, the Club intends to recruit additional players during the close season, with this process taking place following the appointment of a new Head Coach.

The recruitment process for this position is ongoing and the Club will be making no further comment on the matter at this stage.

Supporting University Hospitals Birmingham

As announced earlier this month, we are proud to be continuing our charity partnership with University Hospitals Birmingham.

Having worked with the organisation since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to extend the partnership to ensure that the NHS fundraisers could benefit from the generosity of a St. Andrew’s crowd.

We have already kickstarted our support for 2021/22 by launching raffles where you can win Men’s and Women’s season tickets, with many more activities planned throughout the season.

Keep Right On!
