Strikes from captain Troy Deeney and second-half substitute Riley McGree helped Lee Bowyer's men to overcome the in-form Swans, with Blues backed by the biggest home crowd of the season at St. Andrew's.
Deeney broke the deadlock after 47 minutes in B9 thanks to a textbook touch and finish before Michael Obafemi levelled for the visitors inside the final quarter of an hour. However, just five minutes after they were pegged back, Blues retook the lead through persistence from McGree.
The Australian saw his initial shot saved but followed in sharply to secure three points for the hosts.
